Five principles and Motto |

PANCA JIWA
Panca Jiwa is Five Principles of pesantren by which
students should regard them as their values of life. These following elements
are vital for students and Pesantren:
- SINCERITY
to do everything with good intention stemmed from one's inner self. SINCERTY
becomes a soul for any kinds of deeds. Similarly, all good deeds would be
rewarded to its doers inasmuch as it is a reflection of best adherence
offered to Allah and His creatures.
- SIMPLICITY
is an attitude, action and way of thinking based on needs, not desires. It
could not be measured by quantity, but it should be based on its merits.
- HELP
SELF is an ability to take care of oneself, every student should relay on
himself to do his activity. HELP SELF is not limited solely to ability of pesantren
community to meet its own needs, but also to maintain its school management. As an
educational institution, Pesantren
should be independent from others' intervention.
- ISLAMIC
BROTHERHOOD is an Islamic value beyond space and time. Islamic brotherhood
and faith serve as a medium of communication and interaction for all
people regardless of their social status or persuasion.
- FREEDOM
of thought and act is deemed as a freedom to determine one's future and to
choose students' points of views. This free spirit is expected to
encourage students to be creative, broad-minded and optimistic to face
challenges in their future.
Motto
Those five principles
should be supported by ideals to inspire students' way of thinking, attitude
and behavior of pesantren community, namely:

LONG TERM PLANS (Five frameworks of Pesantren)
Basic foundation of pesantren
programs condensed in five long term plans to be directions and guidance for
development, progress and sustainable existence of pesantren as follows:
1.
Education and Teaching:
Pesantren is continuously aware of and
responsive to development of multi-dimensional education and striving to
enhance quality in education and teaching. This effort is manifested by
establishment of higher educational institution and augmenting a number of
teachers/educators.
2.
Regeneration
Regeneration program within Daar
El-Qolam is aimed at preserving the legacy of pesantren as a leading institution, and to conserve itself from
deterioration. In this regard, intention on regeneration in pesantren is
conducted through comprehensive improvement of institution and enhancement of quality
(life skills) of all people involved.
3.
Infrastructure and Facilities:
The purpose of this program is to
support quality enhancement of education and teaching. Provision of
infrastructure and facilities is made continuously through renovation,
augmentation, and maintenance of existing facilities.
4.
Chizanatullah (Financial Resource)
One of requirements for an educational
institution to survive and to develop is to have its own financial resources.
In its course of development, Daar El-Qolam attentively heeds to this matter. A
variety of enterprises are established intended to serve as supporting means
for the sake of financial sustainability of pesantren.
To mention some, students' convenient store, students' cafeteria,
transportation business, heavy equipment rental, publishing, etc. are the business
activities of Pesantren
5.
Welfare of Pesantren Community
Its purpose is to empower community and
families in the vicinity of pesantren
that assists and supports for existence and sustainability of pesantren, in order that they could be
self sufficient in the future.
